rockstarbreakfast asked: can you rant about people that rant about things that are not worth ranting about?

I saw this recently at a club. A friend was going off to a sick tune and some random guy walked up to him and tapped him on the shoulder to start a conversation. He replied but his groove was shot. Random keeps on the conversation so my buddy stops dancing completely to continue the conversation… then random runs out of his witty banter, and the two of them are standing on the dance floor with arms crossed bobbing their head staring at the dj… This just reminded me of how annoying it is when somebody tries to talk to me while I am dancing. If i’m just bopping my head on the dancefloor, sure say hi, but leave it at that. I’m enjoying the music, unless you are telling me that my car is on fire or somebody is fighting my girlfriend, don’t bother me, or anyone else who is dancing, because you look like an asshole. thank you :)
Its great to see party goers using earplugs these days, but I see so many people with the earplugs hanging out of their ears. it does you no good. If you cant get them to sit properly, pull up on the ear like in the picture, it works like a charm. just practice at home, you’ll know when they are in right. the music sounds BETTER with them in…and your ears don’t ring all night.

Readymix and k@_boom! are at it again! If you have been to the past few shows these guys have teamed up for, you know what to expect. Like the poster says, expect booming banging exploding beats all night long. The readymix boys need no introduction, having one of the best weekly events in the city for years. k@_boOm! is a coab of dj’s p_a and sw@t along with p_a’s alter ego iCandy. Expect brain melting visuals all night long that go along with the killer party music. cant wait for this one!!
I know you want to be the center of attention and have everybody look at you while the DJ is playing… But that area up there is reserved for the people who are a part of the show. We have all kinds of gear up there attached to wires that you will trip over, and the DJ rig is certainly not a place for you to set your drink down. Just imagine tripping over a cable and killing the sound, while falling flat on your face for everyone to see. Save yourself the embarrassment and your next three paycheques because that shit is expensive. If you need some room to dance, there is always the back of the dance floor. So please, show some respect and stay off the stage.
Friday night in Winnipeg. A Canadian dubstep hero! looking forward to being a part of this show as vj iCandy.
*update- Mark Instinct killed it, plain and simple. Hyping up the crowd to the max and playing banger after banger in a flawless set. Had a chance to chat with him before and after the show and hes a super rad guy as well. I know thats not very relevant to the average party goer, but i felt it should be stated. check out his soundcloud page http://soundcloud.com/Mark_Instinct. i’m rocking out to them as we speak. mmmmm
I had to step out so I missed a good chunk of K!mmy, and Will Bensons set, but K!mmy was filling the dancefloor shortly after the doors opened, and by the time i got back Will Benson was rocking it. Good job guys.
Sw@t also played an amazing set, no surprise there. From electro to dnb, dubstep to drumstep, she had all of the bases covered and took care of business up there.
i’m trying to think of something bad to say to put the asshole in basshole, but i can’t think of a single thing. I’m going to try to get my hands on some of the pictures and video of the night to post them here, i have some iCandy clips and i’ll be making a little video and putting it on my iCandy website: www.vjicandy.com
Big ups to Encore Beats for a hugely successful first event, looking forward to the next one.
We’ve all done it. Taken a dj gig in a smaller town and been offered a room at the promoters house instead of a hotel. Its usually no big deal, especially if you know the promoter and have worked with them before. I think the one thing overlooked is having a reliable ride to the venue. It seems that the person in charge of driving the DJ to the gig feels its ok to get hammered while hanging out, and then offer to drive them to the gig. Very unprofessional.
